NAU President Dr. Cindy Mathena Honored at AOTA’s INSPIRE Conference
Dr. Cindy Mathena, President of National American University, was recently recognized at the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) INSPIRE conference in Orlando, Florida. This event, held annually, celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to occupational therapy.
Dr. Mathena’s recognition came through her induction into the AOTA Roster of Fellows, a prestigious group acknowledging professionals who have advanced the field through leadership, advocacy, and expertise. Established in 1973, this recognition highlights her impact on both the profession and its beneficiaries.
Her inclusion in this distinguished society specifically recognized her for raising the visibility of occupational therapy on a national level. Dr. Mathena’s leadership in higher education has raised the awareness of OT while contributing to the role of OT’s in leadership positions.
